The Nightingale (Short Poem)

When walking through the woodland,

in the early morning dew.

I heard a nightingale sing and it made me think of you.

It sang a gentle ditty, though wordless in its song

It still remained and lingered even though the bird was gone.

Its voice was sweet and soft; Before ringing out loud and clear.

And the joy it left within me,

Conjured away my fear.

You are that nightingale my love,

My only one true dear.

You take away my fear and pain,

You make me stop and thrill.

And when I come back to that dear place,

In that bright woodland you will be.

You are my nightingale my love.

I’m so glad that you're with me.
