Coffin

Coffin

I try to turn the corner.
I cry as I mourn for her.
I can't contain the grief I feel.
Another leaf falls in the rain.
You are no longer part of this dimension.
This compression is just the start.
This canopy of stars shines tonight.
My misanthropy I fight but this war is never over.
The birdsong is poetry in motion.
Devotion to an unseen deity.
That journey to the coast is over.
The opportunity to post a letter never sent.
