Forgive Me

Robert Isaacs Chiwala

Sometimes it is like

You do this on a purpose

Knowing there is a word "sorry"

Anytime I can forgive you if you say it

The same thing done over again

The same excuses to make

Love is blind so they say

It should not be so maybe I am wrong

Love is blind for sure

But it has heart for real

Then it must feel

In its feeling it should see

Love has conscience

That guides its paths

And it cannot keep on stepping

On its partner's feet all the time

  • Comment from author about the poem: It about how often people misinterprete the phrase love is blind...instead of implying on partners' who seems mismatching in people's eyes..they think is how partner is supposed to forgive or overlook some hurtful things the other does even if sometimes it might to avoidable or deliberate
