Her body betrays her, the mirror it is cruel
Yet the blue eyes do sparkle, still her crown jewel
The twinkle within them, a whimsical gleam
Daydreaming of travel, applying cold cream
My kidney I'd give her, wrapped up in a bow
I'd tuck it in nicely, and then we would go...
To Maine for lobster, a frankie in Mumbai
Then on to New England for Boston creme pie
She's falling- I'll catch her- I'll carry her through
In my arms, my pocket, or in a canoe
We'll row to tomorrow then venture some more
Possibilities endless- laughter galore
I'll tell silly jokes till she laughs and she begs
Snorting "please stop" as tears trickle down legs
Jerusalem, Chile, Hawaii and Spain
Excitement bubbles like a glass of champaign
Papua, New Guinea, Montana and France
Shopping, sightseeing, live music and dance
Fantasies, fairytales, all intertwined
Adventures abound, if only in her mind
Mountains, skyscrapers, oceans with white sands
We wander together still holding hands
Fine stories I'll write her, some funny, some smart
With tears in my eyes- My Mother, my heart
