The wayward dream

Mitra

The night is quiet, dark walls caving in

Maybe just a feeling or maybe I am sleepwalking

Why do I see you here, right next to me

Even though that’s a fantasy, not reality

There are thoughts in my mind which are hazy

If I tell you, you’ll just laugh and call me crazy

But it’s okay, I don’t find those bothersome

You know what happens when one is heartbroken

My soul is heavy with angst, longing and lust

Emotions that follow love, be it new or lost

The restless mind of mine keeps telling me

That this was not to be, as part of my destiny

Was getting around to talk from my heart

That won’t fix much, still it’s a pretty good start

Had such grand plans, and a great scheme

Though in the end, it was all but a wayward dream.
