Inevitable

Robert Isaacs Chiwala

I wanted to hide away from the sun

I did not want his warmth

I was afraid of envious sun

That brings skin burn

Winters were harsh

The sun allured me

I felt his warmth

I had fallen in love with him

I would not elude his charms

We became close friends

I am always with him

Even in summer afternoons
