In the childhood light

A.B. Jakobsen

Leave me not but bring me with you

Across this nascent world and its delicate dew

Within our phantasy as life loving boys

We helped each other seek all our joys

Whence we drowned witches in drains

When there were a-plenty of times grains

I played you a song which whereupon

You dreamed of a life that was long foregone

Wrapped in the sunlight of twenty o´ five

A nostalgic clime that could even the dead revive

And now with you amidst ethereal hue

I wish forevermore for that to be true

In the hazy winter is where you now lie

Following your ghost's footsteps thereby

But please, stay in the spring with me my child

Where life’s throes and plights were far more mild!
