Depressed

Mary73223

You have no reason to be depressed

or so everyone say with plastered smiles and vacant eyes

While you may hide your emotions I was taught to express mine

To not hide behind flagrant lies

you may think my life is fine

but I'm dying inside

every day like I'm sitting in doctors office

the sink won't stop dripping

litesbkeep flickering

minutes keep ticking

and the people pass without checking inside

when someone does come in

be a doctor

nurse or family

l am an inscect

unworthy of attention

undeserving of praise

to hard shelled to listen to criticism

and to selfish to change

for the people who pass

but why should I change

for those who won't give me the time of day

for the people that say they love me

but see me as less than

because of my illness

and when they do offer a hand

it's out of their own selfish obligations

but I don't need it

because I have no reason to be depressed.
