I Remain

Ameljor

Plummeted deep into your sad blue eyes

Tried to change the colors of the tears you cried

And take the pain away

Chase the days of blame from your heart.

There I stood before another lonely day

You tumbled far away before I could stay

So, you could be alone and save your hurtful plays

For changing is so stark and undeniably dark

Yet fear never lets you start.

There's a mountain in our minds we all need to climb

Struggling to the top and falling way behind

It's what we need to do to keep on pushing through

Take that little step, it will all come true.

Sometimes it's overwhelming and all too hard

Easier to part and disregard

You want to stay the same

Turn out the fiery flame and keep your shame.

Forever I will love and whisper your name

I remain.
