Welcome to America

Mary73223

Welcome to America

land of the free

Join the Army

and you can die for your country

for a pointless war

that should never be underway

to keep a country in riches

while millions die voiceless

Where if you don't die

you'll fight to survive

when you loose your use

they toss you away

broken and penniless

you'll die any day.

Give us your poor

your tired, hungry masses

we'll welcome you in

as long as We feel you are worthy

that you'll give everything to Our country

as long as you have money

or a degree to benefit Our country.

Welcome to America,

Land of Hippocricy,

Born from the principle that all men are equal.

Born on the idea that no one should be opposed

except for the people We don't accept

where Our hatred is based on

the color of your skin

the gods you worship

or the idea that a man can love men.

Religion is a choice no one can force.

Separation of church and state

is a must in this place

Except when it benefits Us

the wealthy your ruling class

that buys officials

and doesn't pay fair tax

Welcome to America

Pursue the American Dream

Work yourself to death

For The Illusion That Your Free

Sadly, this is most western countries.
The rich get richer, the poor just die.

Although the stark realities you so eloquently present in your post here are clearer in America, Paul (above) is right to point out that other so called wealthy western countries are well along that same road too.

    Great write - thanks.

So Are you going to give activism a go, Mary? Vastly better than internalising your problems (that's not to say some self reflection isn't worthwhile). Go out there and attempt to improve things. You may only succeed in small ways, but the fight will still have been worthwhile.
