Refugee

Robert Isaacs Chiwala

I have no place to lay my head

There is no peace in my household

Civil war has erupted in my hut

I cannot waste my precious years in violence

I had suffered several brawls

Before I packed up my luggage

Carried by a racing wind

I got lost in the wilderness

I was searching for your hut

I have heard good stories from afar

That this is a peaceful hut

That is even nicknamed the warm heart

I just wanted a shelter to rest

Seeking asylum from a quest

Hoping for some warmth and comfort

I had slept on cold floor in my own hut

Can I stay forever here

Just for the shelter and warmth

I'm finding peace in this house

I don't want to go back to my war torn house
