The last goodbye

poetri

Goodbye Vietnam.

My tears a silver stream of woe,

Trickling slowly to the cyan sea

And merging with the salt water of the under sea world.

Each heart beat pulsated faintly,

As I meandered away quietly.

Sunshine faded like tarnished gold

While the wind lulled its mournful goodbye.

My nation left to drift apart from me,

Planet Earth split into half-- yesterday and tomorrow.
