Half Loved

Robert Isaacs Chiwala

I wanted to stay here for years

But my presence is becoming so annoying

That's my perception from the look of things

I don't want to keep troubling my best friend

You know I love him so very much

That it hurts me when he is sad

Looking troubled and lacking peace

Had you be me you would have felt it

I feel like I have become a thorn in his flesh

A stumbling block in his path to destiny

Everytime he looks at me such a reproaching gaze

I tell you it wasn't like this in the beginning

I feel like he don't love me anymore

Like I mean nothing at all

I was his confidant he could be open with me

He would have told me about this misleading gestures

                        ********

You know I love her so -very much

That I look ill when she is not fine

She been acting strange like a stranger

Sometimes not responding when I'm asking

The way she is looking the message is clear

She is tired with me I don't mean anything now

Yet we would have talked this aloud

At least to free each other from wild thoughts
