It hurt at first sight

Clausin

The problem with the heart is that when it hurts, you cannot scratch off the pain –

Like a dry and thirsty ground yearning for rain.

It waits for what could be the only remedy to its unforgiving ache

When these unruly eyes glanced at the inescapable torment of your beauty

This feeble heart could not fathom or contain the excitement

It was at that mystifying yet magical instant that I realised

It hurt at first sight of your inexplicable appeal

And yet, it was worth the pain

To think that it will ever feel that way ever again,

Would be a dream come true in itself

Wherever you have gone

Remains but a mystery yet to be uncovered

It hurt at first sight, and one could only wish it lasted for a while.
