If only I could sing

rihanna_naik

If only I could sing,

With a voice of birds,

Fragrance of flowers,

And beauty of stars.

I'd be playing my guitar throughout the year,

With trees dancing near the beautiful grass,

A squirrel or two viewing the morning charm,

With a wish of nuts in thousands.

I wish to fly over to this crystal dream,

Worth more than dozens of diamonds,

Bringing me my grace.

During sunrise,

If only I could sing,

During sunset,

If only I could dream,

I shall no longer be afraid,

And remain no more a coward,

But follow my dreams,

And meet my desires forever.

  • Comment from author about the poem: A strong feeling we have is to pursue our desires and to bring it to reality. Such feelings, such emotions change our whole perspective of life. We feel that what we want, what we wish should be fulfilled and once born, will bring positive changes in one's or his/her own life, the world, etc. This poem views the strength of a desire of a girl who feels her wish can change the world and her life. I wrote this poem on the same basis; I had a desire to write an anthology of poems and then compile them into a single book (I, in a few attempts wrote this poem and I was about 9 years old then). As you feel the heart of the poem, I feel the heart of a blessing; the blessing that gave me the skill to write such a poem, a poem that has been my most favourite and the best among all my other poems. Do enjoy it and comment, like and share this golden piece of mine.
