feeling the soiled earthy water fill my nostrils, my eyes, seeping through my pursed lips
and running through my hair.
i sit here and let the moss sprawl over my scars, let the fish eat away at my swollen skin and let the water turn me blue
in the same way you would.
latern-lit walks near the shore would reveal me
but you prefer to visit in the dark
you prefer to not see old man grim holding me
you like to pretend i simply went for a swim.
kiss my eyelids and taste the green
tell me it was my own fault, ill believe it.
close your eyes if you want, psyche
but i am still drowned
and i am still yours
