friends

spookystargirl

We tell everyone we are just friends.

But do your other friends know you the way that I do?

Do they know every crevice of your body like I do?

Do you kiss them the way that you kiss me?

Do you share your childhood trauma with them on your bedroom floor at 3am the way you do with me?

Convincing people we are just friends isn't easy.

They can see the way we look at each other like we are examining a fine art piece for the first time.

They can hear the way we finish each other's sentences effortlessly.

They can feel our connection in the room when we are together.

Trying to convince myself we are just friends is even harder.
