Forbidden Desire

darknessandlight

Invasion into every thought

An unattainable wish and forbidden desire

Something that can be envisioned but never sought

Through my shattered heart, these feelings have a sire

If only through denial they would fade away

Just to avoid the thorny and painful sting

But like a scar, they are here to stay

Always and forever tantalizing and enticing

Ever causing emotional sway

A swirling storm of turmoil and longing

Of this there is no more to say

For lamenting is so very exhausting

Even though it won't show

Your memory is forever held dear

And you'll never know

The Dream that is so clear.
