Window Pain

My apple tree has never born apples

The rabbit in the hole
Silent and invisible
To the outside
Yet, I hear her scurry
Magpie desperate to find his mate
Seems to me, he knows
 It may be an impossibility
Hope, seems to be his broken wing
Hoping one day it will be fixed?
Sun trying desperately to peek his head
From behind the darkened clouds
Making the ground look somber
And I?
Well I cannot help but wonder...
If our world is really so bad
Then why the hell
Am I not in that rabbit hole too?

    'Cos you wouldn't fit..... LoL

More seriously, Teddy - the world IS in a terrible state. Whether humanity can wriggle out of it is very much an open question.

And I hoped for something cheerful from you.....

Your discovery of the art you present here continues to be intriguing.

The world is going downhill quicker than Putin can say, Ukraine, hate the place. I did find 50p today, and the world looked good again.

        • Teddy.15

LOL 😂 and all it took was 50p oh my dear Paul, I fell down a Florence hole last week and dislocated my ancle, I pushed it back in and walked to my bus. I was grateful for that. Not impressed with what's going on further afield. 💖 Thank you my dear friend. 💖

To everything it's purpose, and so we try, we try.

The pic you chose to accompany this poem is so very expressive of the sentiment that lies within. Curtain partially drawn, the innocent expression, the thought that what we don't know will always be there, and we may always wonder but we will always hope as well. Beautiful my dear, such a fave!

Hello my dear Bella, I'm honoured you are enjoying my poems so much, yes you have delved into my poem beautifully, I cannot help but feel somewhat desperate for the current affairs in our world. Thank you so much 💖

The mad hatter beckons and for us it may be poetry, that proverbial rabbit hole. This paints quite picturesquely how anything and everything is dark, hidden, and depressing to the eye of the beholder whose heart is thus troubled. That window, had it shutters and block out curtains could be shut for a period of time when needed and let the inner light shine! Thanks for sharing.

Dear Crypticbard, So very kind of you to leave such a wonderful review, I am looking at the current affairs in Italy and of course of the current problems in the world. Thank you for your sensitivity and truly wonderful review. 💖

It's an imperfect world indeed........Beautifully written

                • Teddy.15

It surely is dear Steven005, but there is also a possibility of change it really shouldn't depend on one single person. Here's to a brighter day ahead. 💖 Thank you so much 💖

                  • Steven005

Very true....I wish you a bright day too, thank you.....you're welcome

Emotive words Teddy, but you will never be in that rabbit hole as you have a good life and it will get better every day.

                    • Teddy.15

Awe, the life I have is well earned, however sometimes we are not in control especially when madmen are threatening to nuke us. Thank you Andy such comforting words always from you. 💖

Strictly speaking, this is very good in its very own write & could easily stand its ground against any other poem of this genre .. The Lewis Carroll aftertaste and glow it leaves behind make it even extra special .. 💖

                      • Teddy.15

Wow, thank you dearest Nev, I was reminded by Dave how I would never fit into the rabbit hole lol and he'd be right. 💖 Thank you kind poet for such praise. 💖
