Dark Nights

Mr. Not

Dark nights filled with chilly air
A shadow under a roof
Smoke coating pink walls black

The smell clings to the air
Jumping in the shower
Cold water hits the floor

Sitting by the door
Watching the pavement reflect moonshine
The faint sound of a car in the distance

I always had a hard time during these dark nights

There was a jump there from the shower to the front door. Hope no one stumbled in the dark. Quite resonant and heart plucking poem.
