A beautiful vase

lovepoetry

A beautiful vase

Of coloured glass,adorned with

Intricate golden carving

Crevices studded with precious stones

Created a rainbow whence sunlight shone

The vase was a sight ,beautiful to the passers by

The flowers it held were unique

Tulips in shades of red surrounding,

lilies white ,lilies yellow

A circle of roses pink, green and white

Baby’s breath  scattered amidsts the gorgeous bunch

Dew drops sparkled still on the petals

What a sight for sore eyes!

And then one day as luck would have it

When two young boys were frolicking

The vase slipped shattered to a million pieces

The gems scattered to the ground

As did the flowers and one by one lost colour and petal

It was once a beautiful vase

Beautiful both inside and out

I liked this very much. The poem is so... balanced, with wonder descriptive imagery, meter, and rhyme.
