Tune: Melcombe
('New every morning is the love')
Jeremiah 2 v.13
********
My people, they have committed
Two evils, by them they misled
They have forsaken me, the Lord
And listened to deceiving words
For I, the fountain of living
Waters, true refreshment giving
But my people have from me turned
And other ways have tried and learned
For they have hewn out cisterns that
Are broken, and no matter what
They can no water hold, supply
They cannot give, people shall die
But turn to me and find again
An endless quench for your thirst then
Bread and water of life I be
And can sustain you completely

That wakes up even the most slumbered of souls, if ever the ears have heard. To turn and turn wholeheartedly, that is our sustaining grace.
Thanks CB.
Good write, Orchi.
Thanks Jerry.
So glad to see you back in verse my friend. And such a lovely write. I always love references to water, and this one is so appropos.
Thanks Bella.
