a very meaningful poem cb. the stories behind poems are deep and people who've been through different things might even understand the poems in their own way.

Thanks Mr. Not. I am living under the presumption that our poems are safe in our readers beings as well as in the sites that purport to uphold poetry, poems and poets. Thanks kindly.

Well writ always worth bearing in mind, Rik. I should do it more often...at times I get incensed by the ideas produced under the guise of poetry.

      • arqios

Ah, yes! I hadn't gotten to that Dave. But I suspect, even then, that there may be a story, valid or otherwise, as to the origins of such writes. And I don't expect that anyone could be so magnanimous as to let slip writings that are malicious and "malintended."

        • Doggerel Dave

"....there may be a story.." Problem here is we are not a counselling service. But point taken, Rik.
However I'm not magnanimous enough to empathise with the misinformed. Open debate with the ability to enjoy being proven wrong is something I've burbled on about here often - with mixed results.

          • arqios

hehe, I walked into that one Dave! Open debate is a hallmark Aussie trait. And the mixed results that's probably part of the territory. It takes a certain kind of mindset to adjust to that for a highly ego-protective intellectual culture.

Settled, then.... lol. Take care, Rik.

              Well said, CB

Thank you Jerry. Good to have you back on my page. It is a privilege to receive your most appreciated thoughts. /Rik.

The beauty of poetry is that it does come from the heart, the mind, the soul and you have expressed this so beautifully. No fear in poetry; no inhibition, free flowing, often intimate , truthful, angry, loving, kind, understanding, every emotion you can think of. And the greatest part is that no matter what the subject, someone had a thought and had the courage to share it. A great write my friend, and a fave.
