They Did it All For the Clicks

J.Edse

the clicks

the clicks

all for the sick

self-satisfaction of another,

unable to make it on their own

without others approval

they’ll lose their will to

fight for their own lives

day after day

time passing faster

as the end draws near.

they’ll be by themselves for the first time

without the satisfaction of the other,

approval from the other

in the end they’ll have only themselves

but they've never explored what its like

to be themselves

so they’ll be in trouble.

they’ve been hollowed out to the core

with a set of glass eyes, plastic face, and pursed lips

where their dignity once lied

and they’ll be empty

of their own life experiences

because they spent their entire lives

neglecting

the one person

who mattered the most.

they did it all for the clicks.
