inviting in the other

G. Lauriel

lips slightly parted, inviting in the other

there is a whole universe in between

but we are getting closer, closer than ever

like the images you get when you’re high on fever

your hand touches my neck and runs along my spine

i get goosebumps as you make me shiver

i close my eyes and see you still clear

your love pushes over my shoulders, i will drown

you’re way above my head like so much water

all the words i mumble and smear onto the paper

i wait for you to come to me like a battle hero

you’re right beside me, but i’ll wait for you forever
