Harvest Health

Tune: Golden Sheaves

('To thee, O Lord, our hearts we raise')

Genesis 1 v.31

********

God di look on all He had made

In heaven and earth displayed

And saw that it was very goo

It was all made as He would* (*willed)

Seas, lands, and skies, and all therein

It did with Him all begin

Creator God, who made each thing

To you we our praises bring

Grant blessings on our harvest-tide

No forgetting those beside

The poor and needy, hungry too

That you in your mercy view

Give grace that we good stewards be

Of your creation, and see

We together are co-creatures

All life to you trusts, refers

So caring for our fellow-man

And woman, do what we can

To aid them poverty restrict

In each city, town, district

Giving and receiving that we

Share in an equality

Not too much nor too little, for

Then fair distribution sure

Forgive where we greedy become

Or where we do favour some

For our own advantage, profit

Help only as we see fit

But in your love and compassion

Harvest-hearts unto each one

May we have, and so each shall be

Provided sufficiently

The earth is going through a bad time just now, but in all essence, it's still a fantastic place to be.

      Thanks Paul.
Sometimes in nature - all is fine. Then man turns up and mucks it up. Doh! Hopefully not always.
Shall we try Mars? Does the no.7 bus go there? That corny joke again! lol.

Dear friend, thank you for this beautiful poem. The area in which I live is full of small farms and as I drive through I see fields full of corn and beans ready for harvest. It makes me even more aware of the abundance we are blessed with. And with such abundance no one should go hungry.
