Vanishing Point

Vanishing Point

At the end of this road, I’m sure it leads
To a point of no return that hallows
Where thoughts, words and deeds
Converge with his kindness that follows.

Deep behind the sirens that divert you
With allure to the rocks only to hurt you
Offering the devils decree, just beyond the trees
That line the banks uneven, flirting they tease.

With each step a stray, further I wander
From the path set forth, feeling forlorn
Along time stamped memories, I mourn
As the crescent moon peaks, I’m left to ponder.

As I travel on further, I seek more of his love
Just ahead, yet distant, the horizon lies
content with layers, these overhanging skies
collide with his mystical landscape thereof.

Can I reach this vanishing point fulfilled
Beyond temptation, a place so rich with peace
But, the closer I get, the harder it is to reach
Obtained only as God’s spirit inside ever willed.

Written at twilight
