The Moments With You

Harsh_Raj

Every time I'm taken back to the memory lanes,

My heart dances with the buried pain,

It's not the cigarettes or the wines that cure my aching heart,

It's the moments that I spent with you, my sweetheart.

After a long and tiring journey,

All I wanted was a beautiful memory

For they say that,

People may leave you,

But memories don't.

Every moment spent with you,

Every late night talks,

I still remember sending you the photos of the moon

'Cause it reminded me of you.

Those playful days in the yard,

Those peaceful nights when I used to stare at you

Even when the sky was full of stars.

Even if we couldn't be together,

My mind is still clear.

Because the destination may have been dreadful,

But the journey with you, was still beautiful.

Coming back to my senses, I realised

Three candles were lit inside my room,

But there were actually only two.

The last one was glowing inside me

All because I recalled,

The moments spent with you.

I love how you wrote about how important the memory of the journey is. And how it still can make you feel warm despite the awful end of the journey.
