They Live

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

They Live one of John Carpenter's best
This one got no Kurt Russell in a vest
Rowdy Roddy Piper as Nada and Keith David as Frank
In 1988 they made it
4 years after I was born
But it's a great movie
Put on the sunglasses and you'll see
Subliminal messages hidden could it be?
Obey, stay asleep, watch TV, submit, consume, conform
Nada can't believe his eyes and nothing is no longer the norm
Things get worse, he sees aliens in disguise
As humans
He realises his life been nothing but lies
He tries to put the glasses on Frank but he refused
A fight ensues and they both refuse to lose
He finally gets them on Frank and he can't believe his eyes
He too sees the lies
They find a human rebel base
Take off the sunglasses and replace
With contact lenses
They learn of a plan to cripple the alien defences
A signal to stop them from being seen with normal sight
Some of the humans work with the aliens
Paid off to betray their own kind
They must stop the signal to stop everyone from being blind
They find a transmitter on top of a news station
Frank gets killed and so does Nada too
But not before the transmitter that he blew
After it's destruction
The whole planet is aware of the lies and corruption
The aliens can be seen
You'd expect them to be green
But they blue with parts of red in between
The humans awaken from the dream
The screen goes black
End of movie
The last scene

Oh wow. I haven't personally viewed this. That is massive.

It's a great film, I highly recommend, sorry about the spoilers.

Nah, that's cool mate. Spoilers don't really bother me none. I tend to be slow on the pick up anyways, and that's on a good day as well. LOL!

Haha no worries, yes it is crazy how much that film is actually not dated at all in terms of it's subject matter.
