What counts

Inkdeep

And I keep breathing.
That accounts for all.
Not something,
Not nothing,
But everything,
And all.

Waves come,
They drown and go;
Storms blow,
They uproot and go,
But I keep breathing,
And that accounts for all.

Light blinds,
Darkness creeps;
The weight threatens to sink,
It leaves scars like never before;
Yet I keep breathing,
And that accounts for all.

The rooms close in,
Walls loom about;
Shadows with blades,
Reflections all bleed;
But I keep breathing,
And that accounts for all.

I breathe, and therefore I hope,
I hope, and therefore I live.
So what may come,
And what may go,
I keep breathing,
And that accounts for all.
