even though i well know
i'll never see you again
no one is promised tomorrow
not a second in advance
and i know it can't be good for me
holding onto chance
and if tomorrow goes and leaves
the world with another ghost
when god is done giving me
he's given me the most
and if yesterday will fade away
and erase my mind of you
i suppose there would be
a hole in my head hurting too
but for the moment i can see
all things in me
and for a moment i would do
any of them for you
the weight of that is just too much
for one lonely soul to hold
so i can see the dragon in me
letting go of the gold
