Poem for the planet

This planet is our home.

Here is where we ALL live.

Our home is where we feel safe.

Many are we.

All life lives here.

Safe, secure, strong and weak, not simply surviving but living and thriving.

 

Great are the opportunities, threats and problems.

All life here has challenges to face, but challenges can

Initiate encounters, chances for change and development.

Nothing lasts for ever.

Success comes with resilience and endeavour.

But mindfulness of others, all life, must temper any change,

Or we will find that greed, selfishness, impatience and materialism will bring

Ruination and suffering to this world, this planet, our home.

Only by living with a mind full of awareness of the needs of others, of all life, can we

Uplift and enrich every living thing.

Gratitude and forbearance will find ways for us all to live in

Harmony.
