Home

Home

what really is a home

is it four brick walls and a roof overhead

or is it insulation so I’m warm in the winter

is it a home if I live alone

or is it only a home when there’s others there

is it a place to store my belongings

or is it that blank canvas for me to decorate

home

is it a place with my memories

a place I ran to my parents

they grab me in their arms and spin me through the air

they kiss me on the cheek

and ruffle my hair

Now I hate it when they do that

I always say no and flatten it out again

I stay sat

and silent on the chair

is it a home without chairs

I guess it is

i don’t know

home

is it a place where my sister began to hate

She began to hate me

i hate her for it

i truly do because

because

because

I don’t know because

I only know my feelings

but do I even know those

home

what even is it

is it a house at all

or is it people

or a dog

or a cat

Is it a street

a city

A country

what

is

home

where

Is

home

can you point me in the right direction

please

i just want to be warm

to know

what is my home

want

my

home

back.
