Tune: Wir Pflugen
('We plough the fields and scatter')
Psalm 65 v.6-12
********
By your strength you do set fast
The mountains, they do last
Being girded with power
They established each hour
You still the noise of the seas
For storms give quiet breeze
And tumult of the people
To them you bring calm all
Chorus
You crown year with goodness
Provisions, Lord, you bless
You give enough, e'en abundant
All from heaven sent
For unto ends of the earth
We praise you, give you worth
In godly fear, reverence
As we your presence sense
You make each day, night rejoice
You give us life, your choice
And visit the earth, rains send
They with the sunshine blend - Chorus
You water the earth, so give
Crops, food that we may live
Such as the corn, not parched be
But drinks the raindrops free
With showers you make ground soft
Sent from above, aloft
And cause growth, land to prosper
For blessings you confer - Chorus
The rain falls, sun shines, each place
Enabled by your grace
The pastures with flocks are clothed
Your faithfulness bestowed
The valley covered with corn
Then reaped at harvest morn
'Tis as if they shout for joy
They sing, voices employ - Chorus

Erm, I wonder why nothing grew in me field. I scattered seeds first, then ploughed. Doh!
Watered? Weeded? Fertilised? De-pested?
Yup, thanks CB.
My pooch Brulee a real Border Terrorist refused to walk with me this mane along by the sea .. she has done it before .. I'm convinced she does not like the roar of it at high tide ............ just sayin .. I could have done with a bit of stillin today .............. Neville 🙂
Thanks N.
A true poem of thanksgiving. Very appropriate for this season in the U.S. As for all others in the northern hemisphere a time of harvest. Very nicely worded.
Thanks Soren.
