Sometimes, for some, poetry is the last refuge - and I wouldn't knock that, Rik.
Not for me. however my kind of verse allows the expression of fun (not much of that recently) and the occasional idea in accessible form....
    Each to their own...

    PS: I don't even understand "2/50 orchlenge"

    Sort me out!

Oh yes Dave, but true to the range and breadth of poetry, it's quite a vast space for all. I love the reach of accessible poetry and don't feel quite there yet, personally. And as for orchlenge - that's something orchidee started a couple of posts back; a poet a day for 50 days or summat.

        Got you Rik!

        Great title.
Poets need tragedy, and more tragedy.

        • arqios

That's a great source, a deep well to bucket from.

which begs the question, 'did he keel over or just swoon' .. 🙂

            Or both!

Orchlenge? Oh, my poem a day thingy Orch-challenge.
The 50 is that I said I might write 50 poems about KP - but who could bear them?! lol.
Oh I dunno - if writers' block, just churn out some old bilge for the day! heehee.

            • arqios

What’s KP, though? Cereal? Key Point? King’s Pawn? Kitchen Patrol?

              • orchidee

                It's Katie Price who I married one Halloween - so I say! A celebrity - so-called!

                  Oh, right. Thanks orchi!

All kinds are needed, comedy and tragedy, but of Shakespeare's works, I thing the tragedies are his greatest. It appeals more to deep emotion.

Yes! That’s correct Soren. A tragicomic appeal can be oh so soothing.

                    enjoyed the word "sputter"

Some such words are quite timeless and bear so much character they bring such joy!
