Tune: St Francis Xavier
('My God I love thee, not because')
Romans 5 v.1-2
********
Jesus gave His life for our sins
In Him new life begins
And He was from death raised again
'Tis our atonement them
Therefore we being justified
By faith, no way beside
Than faith in our Lord Jesus Christ
His offering sufficed
Offering of Himself to bring
Us to God in each thing
Thus we have peace with God, Jesus
The way, Truth, Life to us
In Christ we also have access
By faith to grace, no less
In this grace we stand. rejoice, see
In hope of God's glory

It's a curious thing how familiar this all is about 4 decades ago or so, I was there. And the feel was that believers and non alike all had a rudimentary knowledge of this possible peace in Jesus. Nowadays though that literacy and openness has taken a different expression. So keep slugging away and churning out for no one else does.
Thanks CB. yes - and the 'Enlightenment era seems to have been rather a Darkness era spiritually.
I agree with Ric that faith seems so absent today from most people's outlook and not so strange that depression has increased.
Thanks Fay. I agree too.
