Ring! Ring!

TomAndJared

They asked

How can I help you?

And you take a deep breath.

Then you wait, wait, wait, and wait once more

Then you’re on hold,

Hyperventilating on the floor.

Hold your breath, this won’t be easier than yesterday

When you were going crazy

“It’s so easy to tell”

Is it really?

How many movies have you seen?

I think you need to look through my eyes.

Ring! Ring!

I’m on the floor,

I don’t wanna do this anymore

Don’t wanna do this anymore.

I’ve lost interest in everything I see

I dance along the floor

Let the boredom wash all over me

Call me

Ring Ring!

Call me.

Ring! Ring!

Call me.

Ring!

Ring!

Ring!

  • Comment from author about the poem: The suicide hotline has the tendency to put people on hold. This has caused many deaths. The ending, where the "Call me" was supposed to be the voice of the person calling. However, the voice stopped, representing that they had died. The third stanza is based on people thinking that it's easy to tell when someone is about it commit. But it's not. Most people are perfectly fine before they die. "I've lost interest in everything I see" is based on depression taking away from someone's want of activity. This will cause them to be so bored with living. Despite this being the main meaning, you can alter it to fit you.

That is so true. And quite a few do reach out although not all do. It is sad though to know how many cases are actually preventable had the situation and the response of those around been different. TFS. Welcome to MPS.
