Fame can be addicting,
To the average creator.
Work hard, post a video,
Check back again later.
Hope you get views,
And, so many likes.
People start subscribing
You’re kidding me, Yikes!
You then feel that rush,
Surging through your veins.
You want to feel it over,
Over, over, over again.
Ideas come up.
You post like crazy!
But, with your day-to-day hygiene,
You’re getting very lazy.
Loose touch with your family.
Exercising, you just stop.
Not sleeping through the night,
Anxiety, with you will flop.
So, you reach out for topics,
Just unrelated to your niche.
You have totally abandoned,
The purpose you started with.
Now, you find yourself in front,
Of your camera boo hooing.
Pleading that your audience,
Will believe in what you’re doing.
Time to take a step back,
In the mirror take a look.
Go to the Library,
Find yourself a good book.
The real purpose of your channel,
Is the book you should seek.
A break from the analytics,
Maybe one or two weeks.
Stop looking at the numbers.
Take a hard look at yourself.
Shut down the camera,
Put the mic on the shelf.
When you’re ready to return,
To start posting again.
Stay focused and determined,
Why you started this thing.

- Comment from author about the poem: I am amazed at the number of YouTubers who have so many subscribers and likes. Yet, some are unhappy that their audience want more and more content to a point where it is hard for them to keep up. So, some of them post pity parties of how sad they are for getting what they wanted in the first place. So, I say, "Be careful of what you wish for."
