Neville

Ciao

Before I finally let go, I thought

you should know ..

Just in case, you had not

already guessed ..

It’s true, I confess, I once loved

you far more, than

I even, once loved life, itself ..

Oooh Nev - - - this reads like the saddest of final farewells and in just a few lines you capture the untenable pain of a love that strong it takes over every aspect of life - - - sighing big here - ........x

    • Neville

I am delighted you were the first to have alighted here dear Fay .. x

You made it, by virtue of it's brevity a piece which didn't leave me in suspenders for too long, Nev.
Initial hypothesis formed during the first lines was: an Adios to all at MPS.
      Reassured latterly.

You got me smiling DD .. it's nice to know one might be missed ........ maybe 🙂

Ah! Arrested breath and stunned thought process. The finality is brutal. The word 'once' though, lingers and fuels thoughts into the distance. Provocative and packs a punch.

        • Neville

nice of you to see it my way sir ... N 🙂

Where ya going? When will ya be back? Will ya be back at all?
So many questions. Have ya already gone? Have ya been and gone and are ya back by now?
Do shut up Orchi, says Fido. You're giving me a headache prattling on.

          • Neville

I wonder whether you would ever really notice for more than a few mere micro-moments Mr. O 🙂

            • orchidee

I'm all in a dither, but, yes, I would notice friends gone!

            • Ninkasi

              Without saying goodbye?

              • Neville

he left a little note under her pillow ... and a bigger one next to the mirror with directions to the little one which was signed off with a x

                • Ninkasi

That would eventually lead to the myriad treasure hunt of sweet nothings entering her dreams

                  Brilliant!
(In a blink she's back at my hip
                  linked
like we were at first glimpse
                  all teeth and fingers entwined
in a fate we once knew, designed
for us to ever-walk as just the two of us...
then a new blink, and reality
washes away all that dreamy yearning
a shake of the head, a sigh of released regret
and take a step to what awaits
                  but away
from that we wish could be reclaimed,
                  and-on we trudge - on
in hopes of finally finding that permanence
                  we seek...)

as yet, I am presently and pleasantly undecided whether you have just poemed a prayer, or prayed a near perfect poem .. but until I am certain, I shall file these fine words under M for mantra .. arigato Mek. N
