Salvation Surety

Tune: Holton Holgate

('Firmly I believe and truly')

Romans 10 v.8-11

******

If you shall with your mouth confess

The Lord Jesus Christ, no less

And shall believe in your heart true

God raised Him from dead anew

So you shall be saved, for 'tis so

Of heart and mind we may know

That with the heart man does believe

Thus God's righteousness receives

And with the mouth confession is

Made unto salvation, this

Word is not far from us, but be

In our mouth and our heart, see

For the Scripture says, Whoever

Believes on Him shall never

Be ashamed, but bright witness shine

Saved by Him, His grace diving

Thanks Neville. And now a blow-by-blow account of........ whatever! I could have added 'confession' need not always mean confessing sins, but can also mean 'saying summat'. 'Fess up, spit it out, man, let's be hearing!' says Fido in his Colonel uniform, stiff upper lip, etc.
