An empathetic, Fate

L. B. Mek

I like

Lemon’s, even vinegar and sour sweets

A taste for all-things bitter

Innate

As-if, even Fate felt guilty

Knowing the flavour of life that awaits

It still amazes me that sourness and bitterness are so closely related, a very striking metaphor. Can’t wait to drizzle a meal in lemon, lime and a dash of balsamic vinegar…. You have made me hungry Mek!

      lol
(I'm glad, a good appetite is not something to take for granted
      thank you dear Poet)
it's funny, a salad without lemon seems out of place
and yet, a squeeze too much and it becomes too sour
      and so
we just need fate, to tone it down a little
allocate us enough, so we appreciate
those sweeter moments, in our chaotic salad of life

it seems we have similar tastes and a predilection for honesty, justice and universal truth ............ Neville

        Thank you Hyung, how kind
for those be the very same traits
I appreciate most in your poems
and of course, your wondrous grasp of subtlety

The taste for life''s tang can be sour at time and has been outlined so well here with imageryr and bitter-sweet meanings - - a fine read L.B.

indeed, so glad you picked up on the sweet tones dear Fay
          'melancholic sweet', maybe
but there is some sweetness in facing our life's realities
at the very least, a preparedness and acceptance
that makes those bitter mouthfuls in life
          that much more bearable...
(or I like to fool myself into thinking
this is an aspect of practical utility
          in our introspective endeavours)
          lol

All things are good in a mix, like your words that bring together many poets as I'm a huge lover of everything sweet!
          ..
          Lemon cake
          Go on!

            Lemon Cake, my Fav!
That lemon curd does it for me all the time, lol
            Thank you, kind Poet
            Indeed
'let's endeavour to enjoy our lemonade's
mixing-in a few sweet granules of smiles
to those plaguing, hurtful flavours of life'
            and we'll all meet
            on those dreamy mojito lanes
            of our inking's poetic journeys
            🍸 cheers

Yes, how can you ever know sweet if you're not familiar with sour and bitter? Well done.

            • L. B. Mek

what encouraging words, thank you dear poet

            • sorenbarrett

Like art, taste is an individual issue. I to enjoy the bitter and sour but also the salty and sweet. A wonderful metaphor L.B.

very much so, I truly agree dear Poet
'each life is an individually eclectic, experience
and yet its sum seems to be collectively universal
more of that juxtaposition, nature loves so much'
                lol
