Just A Feeling

emengee28

Tell me how to start again,

When I still can’t believe it’s over?

When the sun no longer shines my way,

And those wasted wishes hoping you’d stay.

When you broke those promises and closed your door,

Was the day I knew you didn't love me anymore.

Every night I cry

I know this is more than just goodbye.

Each sob makes me gasp for air.

When I look at you, the you I loved is no longer there.

Maybe it was just a feeling, a one-sided feeling.

The one that keeps me believing

And wishing it wasn’t over.

Maybe it was just a feeling, a one-sided feeling.

The hurt that keeps me from healing.

And you’re no longer my lover.

When the pain is gone and I can’t cry another tear

Would that be the day you’ll fear?

The day when  there’s nothing for you to come back for

Will be the day I’ll say “I don’t love you anymore.”

Tell me, was there a night that you’ve cried,

For our relationship, and when I finally said goodbye?

This time, for sure, I will never care.

When you look at me now, you’ll see that love’s no longer there.

Maybe it was just a feeling, a one-sided feeling.

A fancy illusion that kept me daydreaming.

You’ve given me rain, so I won’t give you my sunshine.

Maybe it was just a feeling, a one-sided feeling

The one that keeps revealing

That I was never yours, and you were never mine.

Tell me that what we had is something we can’t recover.

Because it’s apparent that we’re really over.
