Crimson Tide

J.H.Byron-Nuel

Some light shines from a girl whose heart bleeds.  Her head full of dreams.  Bad times she tried to escape.  There are tears in her laughter.  She screams, “I am free” as she flies towards the sky with a sadness in her eyes.
Crimson tides as memory fades.  Blood red waves washing over me.
Her light shined down into this hole of mine, down into the dark that is me.  As the light shined I closed my eyes.  I locked my heart away.  I was a failure to her, I failed myself and I lost the one I’ve waited for so long.
Crimson tides as memory fades.  Blood red waves washing over me.
When I’d opened my heart I’d lost the dawn.  The setting sun another day fades.  On the shores of this broken dream my soul will be redeemed.  My life is like the crimson tide; it rises then falls away.
Crimson tides as memory fades.  Blood red waves washing over me.
The times we shared and the smiles in the dark fading from my life.  The love I had and the hope I held flows away.  The scarlet moon turns the crimson tide helping me to forget about her.
Crimson tides as memory fades.  Blood red waves washing over me.
