Availing Armour

Tune: Monks Gate

('He who would valiant be')

Romans 13 v.10-14

*********

Knowing now 'tis he time

High time in life's rhyme

To awake out of sleep

Slumber not e'er keep

For now our salvation

nearer for each nation

Is, then when we believed

First day we received

Received gospel of grace

Open to each race

Message of saving love

Holy Spirit, dove

This to our hears reveals

And to minds, no conceals

Night is far spent, the day

Dawns, soon on its way

Let us therefore off cast

The works that not last

Works of darkness, and let

Us not to forget

To put on the armour

Of light, each piece, true, sure

Let us live honestly

Deport properly

Live as people of day

Follow Christ the Way

Not in revels, riots

Nor drunkenness, sots

Not any chambering

Licentious in nothing

Nor wantonness, lewdness

But do things that bless

Not strife or envying

But do in each thing

Put on the Lord Jesus

Christ, His life to us

Given, and not provide

For flesh lusts to abide

But living holy, right

Pleasing in God's sight

Thanks Neville. When I found out 'chambering' meant 'licentious' a swoon came on. It would! lol
