The door to eternity

Eugene

Are you a liar?

Do you steal,

Commit adultery?

No! you say

Ah, you are kind

You do your best

Practice philanthrophy.

You are considered

A good human being.

In the recesses of your soul

Are those dark memories

You choose to bury

Under a mountain of good works.

Consider carefully, for

At the door to eternity,

The eye of the needle,

The only entrance

Is but one requirement,

Your invitation,

Your free pass

Won for you

At that place of victory

'Calvary's Cross'

That place of Redemption

PAID IN FULL.

It is finished.

I find, unless we think of ourselves
as some kind of all-knowing, being
that very notion of absolute, lacks
    truth...
but maybe that's more to do with my own limitations
    thanks for sharing dear poet
