Huddled in the corner
Staring up at the strange new faces
Each different from the last
Hiding all emotion
As though showing them
Will hurt
But I see through this
And I know
That this
Isn’t the
Real you
That you are hiding
That you are afraid
Even though
You don’t need to be
Thinking you must be
Void of all emotion
Thinking that this is an okay way to live
Even though it is not.
But one day,
You decide
To stop with the act
To finally decide
To be yourself
Finally decide to stop hiding
And spread your wings
You’ve decided to show the world
What you’re really like
To show your smarts
To show the real you
Because you are through with hiding
