A neon sign rises and the first beat begins
Awe and excitement tears through the auditorium
Tension is high, nerves are taut
But the energy is electric
Months of work
Endless rehearsals
Attention to detail
Different skill sets
Merged together
Working together
With one goal in mind
Tonight, we are one
Sharing this experience
And suddenly it is all worth it
Which we all knew from the beginning
But sometimes the big picture
is hard to see
When you are in the thick of it

- Comment from author about the poem: On Sunday, we premiered Moulin Rouge das Musical in Cologne, Germany. I have been working on this project since the beginning of August (which explains the lack of poetry posted by me during this time). My job plays a very big role in my life, it takes up a lot of my time, but now since we have opened, I hope I will have more time to myself to find the balance I need in life.\r\n\r\nToi Toi Toi

Your words made the show iive as that curtain rose and what a thrill for everyone taking part -- - hard is hardly the word for all the work that goes into a musical like that one and wow - in Germany too - - Draven your poetic verses have been sorely missed but am sure the whole project re. production would have been worth time and effort for its doubtless success and thank you for sharing the evening's excitement with us.
Thank you very much Fay! It is a pleasure to be part of such a spectacular production, also the first foreign language version of Moulin Rouge.
Now that I have a bit more time (for now!), I will be here more often 🙂
Well done! Congrats!
