In the dead of night when you breathed your final breath
In that bed where you'd tell me stories to sleep well
Mum said there was a tear falling from your eye
I told you we'd be fine, why did you have to go and cry?
Can you see i kept the promise that i made?
I'm watching over grandpa, I've put everything in place
Mum and uncle are now closer than before
And I'm not fighting with my sister anymore
Granny, now I stand on my own two feet
I'm steadier though my legs still feel weak
I'll handle everything just like i said
Rest peacefully in your heavenly bed
I don't need to hide behind you like before
I am not that helpless girl anymore
I'll take care of everyone, I'll do my best
It's alright, now you can rest
There are sometimes when i loose the will to fight
When i tremble on the floor cause I'm still too proud to cry
Guess some things never change, even when you grow up
But i swear to make you proud as soon as i stand up
Grandpa still gets grumpy when he loses a game of cards
So i just let him win, you should see the way he laughs
Every time i have a chance i help mum clean
And when i can i pay uncle a visit for a beer
Granny, now i stand on my two feet
I'm steadier though my legs still feel weak
There's no need to hide behind your back
Now I'm stronger, if i fall I'll get back up
Granny, I'll be kind and I'll behave
I'll rebuild myself if i happen to break
And when i get home I'll bring you roses everyday
Now you can rest, everything's okay
