Deep Dark

PivotalPoetry

How Dark can dark be

How low can low go

How crushed can one be

Before seeds start to grow

What moments can be gifts

What memories can halt time

What pain can one endure

Before light begins to shine

Who must one become

Who must shine the light

Who can lift the spirits

Before the shadows turn to night

How deep does deep go

How numb can one be

How blind are the thoughts

Before one begins to see

Can death be the end

Can lonely hearts heal

Can sunshine warm the soul

Before there’s nothing left to feel.
