Lest we Forget

Stephanie Irvine

This time of year is especially hard ❤
not to mention every day,
The constant pain the sleepless nights,
it never goes away ❤
He remembers his brothers and sisters who fell,
He finds himself screaming their name ❤
He finds himself asking why them? not me?
His life will never again be the same ❤
The man he once was is sometimes there for everyone to see,
But for the better part of it he's alone in his mind, his thoughts won't leave him be ❤
Lest we forget upon this day where we all unite as one,
To remember the ones who have fallen,
so their legacy can live on ❤
As a majority, we spare only a few moments, to remember those who are no longer around,
But we must take time to also think of the ones who are above ground ❤
The one's who remember every day no matter the month or date,
The one's who now fight their own battles, for this has become their fate ❤
For all who have fallen ❤
For all left here upset ❤
May we always remember them ❤
Lest We Forget ❤

An apt offering that stands together with MacRae unashamed for them, for us, and for all yet to come. Lest we forget. Welcome to MPS.

Hello Stephanie - A warm welcome to MPS and such a moving write of what those left behind have to face - - your words hit the painful aspect of war's after-effects on the men who returned and our prayers go out to the heartache of their every day remembering.
